The Long One

I'm an independent creative director and copywriter from São Paulo, Brazil, based in the US.

During my 15-year career, I've participated in many different projects for brands such as Spotify, Uber, AB InBev, Pernod Ricard, Unilever, Mary Kay, Itaú, and Natura.

I have a special interest and love for storytelling, concepts, and scripts.
The first thing I remember I ever wrote was a poem about a party in the jungle and a poor turtle who, for all her slowness, was too late for the celebration. I was 5.

I can still remember my teacher asking if my mom had written it for me, cause it was too good for a little girl. And I can still remember how I felt. Sad. Outraged. Decades later I still get sad, but mostly, outraged every time a woman or a little girl has her value doubted.

As a creative woman, I was lucky to find people who helped me develop my potential and believed in me, even when I didn't. But I've also faced my (not) fair share of society and industry issues. That's why there's nothing I value more than a respectful and diverse work environment. We are already in an industry that deals with lots of stress and sometimes (more than we'd like) toxic behavior. One of my biggest strengths is to keep morale high even when the circumstances are low. During my career, I managed diverse teams and always had fantastic feedback from them. I'm extremely proud of that.

I'm also a proud runner. That's a big part of who I am and my creative process. As one of my favorite writers (and runner), Haruki Murakami wrote: "Exerting yourself to the fullest within your individual limits: that's the essence of running, and a metaphor for life - and for me, for writing as well."

I would add: "Life - and writing - is a marathon: when it gets hard, take a deep breath, keep going, and stay hydrated."

Sometimes I also write metaphor-running-related stuff here.
